Jakarta – Kartunet was honored with an award in the Bronze category this week from the Internet Sehat Blog & Content Award (ISBA) 2011, on Tuesday (23/8). Kartunet was deemed worthy of the award for its engaging and inspiring content presented across its various sections.
ISBA itself is a year-round award presented to managers of Blogs, Wikis, Forums, Portals, and various other content services, whether individuals or groups, who have productively and creatively expressed their ideas, thoughts, and insights through online writing. The awards commenced in 2009 and are supported by telecommunication service providers in Indonesia and leading global application companies.
ISBA bestows four award categories each week: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze, with Kartunet being one of two recipients in the Bronze category. According to Onno W Purbo, an IT Expert and one of the ISBA Award 2011 judges, Kartunet merited this recognition due to its robust and highly active community, evidenced by the consistent flow of articles published monthly.
Beyond its excellent content dissemination, actively engaging on Twitter, Kartunet is also distinguished by its unique characteristic as a blog created by young visually impaired individuals.
“Frankly, not many blogs boast a community as strong as Kartunet's; this is clearly visible in the engagement from its members,” Onno added. Onno further expressed his hope that Kartunet would inspire other Indonesian bloggers to more effectively leverage blog media for communication. Alongside Onno W Purbo, the ISBA Award 2011 judging panel included Paman Tyo (Blogger & Former Editor-in-Chief for several media outlets), Ollie Salsabella (Blogger, Author, Entrepreneur), and Blontank Poer (Blogger, Cultural Photographer, Journalist).
Kartunet Community Indonesia (KCI), the managing body of Kartunet, conveyed its gratitude for this honor.
“With this award, God willing, it will motivate our team at kartunet.com to work even harder, continuing to share and foster greater public understanding of the existence of people with disabilities through the information provided on kartunet.com," stated Dimas Prasetyo Muharam, President of Kartunet Community.(Laras)
