Jakarta - The Kartunet Community, in collaboration with Detik.com and fellow Detik bloggers, held a joint fast-breaking event themed “Spirit of Ramadan, Solidarity Among Us” at the Detik.com office, Jl. Warung Buncit Raya, Aldevco Octagon Building - 2nd Floor, South Jakarta (August 20). Starting from 1:30 PM to 7:30 PM, the event, which also aimed to commemorate Indonesia's 66th Independence Day, began with introductions from Detik bloggers, Detik.com management, Kartunet.com management, and Kartunet.com sympathizers.
Following this, a sharing session between Detik.com and Kartunet was opened. Dimas, representing Kartunet, explained the history, joys and challenges, functions, and goals of the www.kartunet.com website during the session. In connection with this, Tjatur, representing Detik.com, shared several tips to help Kartunet gain more recognition in the online world.
After the sharing session, one of Kartunet.com's sympathizers, Yudi Hermawan, who is also visually impaired, showcased his magic skills at the event. Yudi demonstrated several magic tricks, such as transforming a ribbon into a stick, a pipe into a flower, making money belonging to one of Detik's administrators disappear inside a box, and a trick to produce fire from a wallet.
In addition to the magic show, two competitions were also held during the event. First, the Top Speed audiogame competition, a car racing game played in the dark using laptops prepared by Kartunet's technical team. Yudi Hermawan emerged as the winner of this competition. Second, a speed Rubik's Cube competition. Before the speed Rubik's Cube competition, Rafik and Zulfikar from Kartunet demonstrated how to solve a Rubik's Cube behind their backs with their eyes closed.
Rafik completed his Rubik's Cube in 1 minute 20 seconds, while Zulfikar took 3 minutes. This was followed by the speed Rubik's Cube solving competition, which saw six participants. Zulfikar ultimately won the competition with a time of 1 minute 33 seconds, and Ade Ismail secured second place with a time of 2 minutes 35 seconds. After the competitions, a recitation of the Holy Qur'an took place.
A Tausiyah (religious sermon) was delivered by Ahmad Fauzi, one of Kartunet's administrators in Pontianak, using Skype and a webcam, while the Tilawah (Qur'an recitation) was performed by Muhamad Hasbi, also a Kartunet administrator. Finally, at the end of the event, Kartunet, along with the blogger friends and Detik.com, enjoyed the fast-breaking meal, followed by a group photo in the Detik.com office lobby to commemorate the occasion.
Oki Kurnia, a visually impaired student from SMA 66 Jakarta and a Kartunet sympathizer, found the event very beneficial and engaging, even stating that he would participate again if a similar event were held. Similarly, Zul, one of Detik's blogger friends, expressed his thoughts. Zul, who was interacting with visually impaired individuals for the first time, admitted to learning a great deal from this activity.
