About Us: Talent & Accessibility Laboratory
Breaking barriers without limits since January 19, 2006.
Kartunet (Karya Tunanetra) is a leadership development platform for youth with disabilities and a digital accessibility advocate in Indonesia. We operate as a Talent Laboratory that prepares young people to be not just survivors, but competent leaders in the digital economy era.
We shift the paradigm from philanthropy to competency. Through this ecosystem, youth with disabilities are educated to become Solution Contributors who hold high bargaining power in the professional industry.
Evolution Towards Cadreization
Entering our third decade, Kartunet has transformed from a mere community media outlet into a systematic incubator. We realize that the sustainability of inclusion depends on the quality of cadreization. Therefore, our focus is now centered on developing young talent through the synchronization of critical thinking and technical skills.
Strategic Vision
"To become the premier incubator nurturing visionary young leaders with disabilities, mastering global technology standards, and leading inclusive transformation independently."
Operational Mission
- Leadership Incubation: Conducting intensive mentoring programs to build integrity, strategic thinking, and leadership character through the Kartunet Future Leaders (KFL) track.
- Technical Mastery: Equipping cadres with digital accessibility audit (WCAG) skills, data literacy, and inclusive writing as evidence-based advocacy instruments.
- Digital Monitoring: Operating Access Squad as a rapid response unit that monitors, tests, and provides technical solutions to accessibility barriers in digital public services.
- Ecosystem Bridge: Connecting standard-certified talents from Kartunet with professional opportunities in inclusive business lines and global industry networks.
Pillars of Movement
As a community partner of Disabilitas.com, we manage two main integrated units:
1. Kartunet Future Leaders (KFL)
An umbrella program for all cadreization at Kartunet. KFL is an identity for youth with disabilities who commit to undergoing leadership mentoring and capacity building for a specific period.
2. Access Squad
The technical action wing for KFL members. Access Squad represents our real-world work in performing accessibility audits. They are tasked with producing audit reports, assistive technology reviews, and policy recommendations regularly published on this platform.
