In reality, it is indeed an enemy to us, but apparently not so for those who benefit from its existence. Many arrogant people, even officials, consider it a friend. Although it is merely a word, it can transform into a force that destroys those considered minorities. So, who is this enemy disguised as a friend? "If you don't know, you don't love," we know that proverb by heart; perhaps it's the one we remember and utter most often among thousands of proverbs. But once we know someone, do we automatically love them? The author's experience proves that this is not always the case. After we find out who and what it is, it's not uncommon for people to leave because of something, most often because of its flaws. Even though they at least know who and what it is. This is why people in this homeland tend to become apathetic and selfish, often even ending up sadistic. That proverb is very meaningful. By knowing, affection will arise and harmonious relationships will be forged, not just for business interests. The phenomenon that occurs is that many refuse to acknowledge other groups outside their own, viewing them only through a lens of negative generalization. If readers haven't grasped what the author is alluding to above, well, of course. It was intentionally not revealed above who we should know, and even after knowing, we still don't understand or even ignore it. This is where the author wants to introduce that latent entity. An entity in the form of a word, yet capable of splitting into several characteristics. Above, there's the proverb "If you don't know, you don't love." Now, in this section, the author wants and needs to create a counter-proverb. Let's firmly instill "I know, therefore I hate it." Yes, to hate this particular entity, one must first know it. Because many people don't know it, they end up befriending it for a long time. After reading the name of this entity, the author also hopes that you will immediately envision its characteristics, making it easy for you to avoid it. It is 'discrimination.' A word that gives birth to many evil traits, harmful traits, traits that are not beneficial for humanity. Forms of discrimination: suppression of individual or group human rights such as: intellectual suppression, suppression of the right to a decent life, suppression of freedom of opinion, suppression of freedom of movement, and many more forms that we must recognize. Educated people should be able to recognize the forms of discrimination and immediately fight against them. However, the reality is the opposite. The government, which should protect its people, continues to befriend the real enemy of people with disabilities and marginalized communities. Since the proclamation of National Awakening Day on May 20th, despite some controversy, the presence of discrimination continues to grow in this country. It continues to sing within regulatory spaces that stifle minorities. Hopefully, May 20th as National Awakening Day will not just be a mere commemoration, but a force to awaken from a deep sleep shrouded in discrimination. Remember! A nation is formed because there is territory, a leader, and people. It is not the people of one group mentioned in that statement, but all individuals or groups who live in/occupy a country and have a bond with the country who are its people. That bond consists of rights and obligations where everyone has equality in obtaining their rights and fulfilling their obligations. Therefore, there is no reason to curtail the rights of any group or individual with the knife of discrimination. This July is the right moment for us to rise together with a new leader. We must fight against traditions that have long been associated with discrimination, such as in education, social aspects, mobility, professions, aspirations, and other aspects, so that everyone can make the Garuda (Indonesia's national emblem) soar, becoming a truly democratic nation, not just in narrative. Remember! Kites fly against the wind, not with it, as Winston Churchill said. Thus, if this nation can rise and fight against the things that have been discriminatory all this time, then this nation will truly fly, flying to other parts of the world to become an inspiration.
