In this day and age, many foods pose health risks, which is why this guide was created. The tips are actually quite simple: it's all about recognition. So, how do you do that? -If food has unusually bright or striking colors, it almost certainly contains artificial coloring agents (potential effect: cancer). -If food is excessively chewy, or if bite marks quickly revert to their original shape after being bitten, or if the food bounces easily like a rubber ball, it likely contains borax (commonly found in meatballs).

-White tofu that is unusually firm and not soft indicates the presence of formalin. -If water drips from meat when hung, the meat's color is no longer red, the fibers appear swollen, and the selling price is unusually low, it indicates water-injected meat, also known as 'gelonggong' meat. -Chicken that is unnaturally pure white or has a bluish tint might be 'toren' chicken (meaning it was already dead before processing).

If chicken emits mucus or water, it suggests it may have been soaked in formalin. -Fish that feels soft when pressed, has dark red gills, or unnaturally clear eyes is likely stale or has been treated with formalin. -Dented canned food packaging can alter the internal concentration, potentially inviting toxins due to the presence of botulinum, which is also a base ingredient in cosmetics.

-Snacks with overly vibrant colors or expired production dates. -Food packaging made of plastic, styrofoam, and melamine, when used with hot foods like meatballs, soto, hot tea, or any other hot food and beverages, can potentially cause cancer. -Improper fish salting and drying processes can lead to the formation of nitrosamine compounds (colorless or slightly yellowish crystalline substances, which can appear as powder, granules, or lumps and are odorless).

These compounds can trigger the activation of the Epstein-Barr virus, potentially leading to nasopharyngeal cancer, throat cancer, or other ENT-related cancers. Daftar Pustaka : Eka, Resya.
