Jakarta, Kartunet.com - There are times when you reach a point where you feel burnt out by the work you do. You want to quit immediately and leave your current organization, but it feels like a waste to abandon everything you've achieved so far. Many factors can lead us to seek a new, more challenging job. These include an unsupportive environment, stagnant income, or being stuck in a position with no further upward mobility. We offer several things you should know before submitting your resignation letter. Check out our guide below.

1. Take a break and ask your supervisor for a few days off to clear your mind. Many respondents say they reconsidered quitting after taking a short leave for a vacation. Perhaps you're just experiencing burnout because you genuinely love your job. Finish all your tasks before your leave and allow yourself to stop thinking about work deadlines for a while. You'll find yourself loving your job even more after returning from your break.

2. Discuss your burnout with the right people, such as your supervisor or colleagues. Often, others' opinions will help you think wisely before leaving your job. Gather several suggestions for your consideration.

3. Wisely negotiate your desires with your supervisor regarding a salary increase or promotion. Ask for new, more challenging projects to keep you motivated and to show your supervisor your commitment to growth.

4. Define your career goals and what you aim to achieve in the next 5 years. This method is effective for establishing a starting point for the career path you're interested in.

5. Don't hesitate to request a transfer from your current department to a new one that genuinely interests you. Remember, loving your job is crucial for building your career.

6. There's no harm in seeking new, more challenging opportunities with greater tasks and responsibilities that motivate you to advance your career. Try to find a new job that offers more flexible promotions, allowing your career path to progress.

7. If your only reason for wanting to quit is stagnant income, you should reconsider your intentions more wisely. Simply reduce unnecessary living expenses or look for side business opportunities that can supplement your income without having to leave your current job.

You are in control of your career, so determine your next steps very wisely. Hendro
