Currently, the Indonesian nation is not truly independent. This can be seen from the numerous restrictions and stigmas that arise due to differences between 'normal' people and those with disabilities, whether physical or mental. Furthermore, these restrictions create a dilemma for economically disadvantaged families. Economically disadvantaged families are those in poor financial conditions, unable to afford books or school uniforms, even when school fees up to high school are free. Moreover, even those aspiring to higher education often have to drop out, burying their dreams and altering their future. Meanwhile, individuals with physical and mental disabilities frequently face rejection. This rejection is evident in the SNMPTN (National Selection for State University Admission) requirements, which may be revised due to strong protests from people with disabilities who feel discriminated against by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud). Not only that, but individuals with mental disabilities are often treated poorly in schools. This applies not only to formal education in schools but also to non-formal education. Often, people with disabilities are looked down upon by others, forbidden to speak, confined at home, scolded, blamed, ostracized, and told to be like everyone else. However, everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. Doesn't everyone need to socialize and learn from one another, including people with disabilities who require education to enhance their potential and competencies so they can be beneficial to others, both those with disabilities and 'normal' people? Furthermore, this contradicts laws, the Constitution, presidential decrees, and Pancasila. Here, I will only discuss the meaning of Pancasila in education. Pancasila in education, both for educators and students, can be observed through several psychological attitudes. Below are the attitudes and related principles. First Principle: Possessing a good character, such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, and cleanliness, leading to integrity. Second Principle: Having understanding and a willingness to help others. Third Principle: Demonstrating empathy due to diversity or differences. Fourth Principle: Exhibiting assertiveness by expressing ideas and feelings politely and courteously. Fifth Principle: Caring for social assistance/help, and openness, especially to opinions and change. Source: https://www.kartunet.com/syarat-difabel-ikut-snmptn-di-revisi-4139 Corporate Culture.
