Men of Honor

Men of Honor is a film based on the true story of a disabled individual, whose story begins with a man named Carl Brashear entering the hospital and choosing to amputate his leg and wear a prosthetic after seeing an article in the newspaper. Initially, this amputation was rejected by his colleagues and doctors, but due to his persistence, his leg was amputated. His leader was convinced that even though he was disabled, he was intelligent. His leader challenged his superiors for a Navy hearing and motivated him. He also learned to accept his condition. He trained physically and was put on trial because disabled individuals were prohibited from becoming divers. However, his leader cared deeply for his subordinate. He disregarded the rules, engaged him in a heart-to-heart conversation, and showed appreciation and motivated him by saying "You can do it" and also "thank you." During the hearing, he was challenged, with one normal leg and one prosthetic leg, to use heavy diving equipment in a room and walk 12 steps towards his leader. With great difficulty and tears streaming down his face, he succeeded. The hearing was won, and he became the first diver in the United States Navy. The film concludes with the adage, "Successful people find one more way, and unsuccessful people miss one." Everyone will surely succeed in the way given to them by God.
