Have you ever had your plans for a relaxing getaway or watching your favorite team's match fall through just because you were worried about the cost? Well, now you can start crossing that reason off your list. Government Regulation (PP) Number 31 of 2026 has just officially approved "concessions," the formal term for cost reductions, specifically for friends with disabilities. The bottom line: more travel, less wallet drama.
Curious about what discounts you can enjoy? Let's take a look.
1. Minimum 20% Discount, Even More with a Companion
This regulation guarantees a minimum 20% discount for us. What's more, if you travel with a companion – someone who assists you with your daily activities – the discount can be even greater. This applies specifically to the transportation, culture and tourism, and sports sectors.
2. Discounts on All Modes of Transport
Land, sea, air, and even rail travel – all are eligible for discounts:
Land: travel fares, tolls, parking, non-subsidized fuel, and even driver's license fees.
Rail: Commuter Line (KRL), intercity trains, and airport trains.
Air and Sea: domestic travel fares, airport parking, and vehicle passes at ports.
So whether you're exploring the city by commuter line or crossing an island by ferry, you'll get a discount.
3. Museum Dates Just Got More Affordable
Love exploring new places for a refreshing break or just to find aesthetic photo spots? Admission tickets to tourist destinations, exhibition galleries, museums, and even cultural heritage sites are now more affordable. So you won't have to think twice about going on a historical tour with friends.
4. Sports and Watching Matches Also Get Discounts
Love playing futsal or basketball with friends, or prefer being a loyal spectator in the stands? Both options are covered. Rentals for sports fields and facilities get discounts, as do tickets for matches, and even non-sporting events held at the same venue.
5. Easy Way to Claim
There's only one requirement: a Disability Card (KPD). Don't have one yet? No problem. While waiting for your KPD to be issued, a disability certificate from a doctor or healthcare facility, or any other official document you've been using, can still serve as proof to get the discount.
So, no more stories of canceled trips just because of the cost. Come on, start planning your itinerary now; who knows, your next destination might be closer than you think.
