Jagakarsa - Other activities might have been off last Saturday, May 25th. However, there should be no breaks in the pursuit of knowledge. Knowledge can be acquired anytime and anywhere, provided there is an individual's willingness to pursue it. Representing the Kartunet Community, my two friends and I attended the Youth ESN 1st Anniversary invitation, which was a celebration of a youth community dedicated to education. The event took place at XL Xplor in Central Park, West Jakarta. The event was not particularly large, but it was meaningful and highly inspiring. It featured speakers who each presented on their respective topics, including:
- Prof. Paulina Pannen from Universitas Siswa Bangsa Internasional, who discussed: Youth and Education.
- The Head of Indonesia Berkibar, Shafiq Pontoh, who discussed: Youth & Education in Indonesia.
From the aforementioned speakers, it was understood that education influences individuals and their environment. The final session was even more engaging. Energetic and inspiring young figures presented a talk show with the theme: Educating the Future Generation: This is my way, what's yours? The two speakers were winners of the Youth Educators Award 2012. Each outlined the work programs they had developed, which had benefited many people. For example, Floranesia (AICT), which provides art and cultural education to the people of Papua in the Central Highlands. The next inspirer also showcased a concrete initiative by a young Indonesian who refused to see their compatriots trapped in poverty and educational disadvantage. This was Fahma (Dreamdelion), who conducted a "social movement" in the Manggah Raih area. Indeed, that Saturday became a meaningful and inspiring day after listening to presentations on education and real-life examples from these inspiring figures who have applied Youth ESN's slogan: "young, educate, build the Nation."
