Do you still remember the Indosat IWIC competition? Yes, the Kartunet community was once honored to participate in one of the roadshows for IWIC, or the Indosat Ooredoo Innovation Contest, 8th edition, which was held in July 2014 in Jakarta, coinciding with an iftar event with the Kartunet community. Currently, IWIC is celebrating its first decade or 10th edition, and once again invites creative, young, and innovative people with disabilities to compete by submitting beneficial mobile ideas and applications for society. To this end, Indosat Ooredoo once again invites friends with disabilities to attend the Kartunet Community Halal Bihalal and IWIC 10 Socialization event, which will be held on: day/date: Friday, August 19, 2016 time: 16:00 - 20:00 WIB venue: DigiPlanet Front Podium, Indosat Ooredoo, Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat No.21, Central Jakarta (also known as the Indosat building, in front of the horse statue).
Event Agenda
- Welcome speech from Indosat Ooredoo
- Explanation of IWIC 10.
- Presentation from Kartunet and the Kerjabilitas job platform
- Sharing session from previous IWIC winners.
- Maghrib prayer break for Muslims
- Dinner together
- Group discussion to formulate ideas / proposals to be submitted to IWIC 10 on the spot
- Distribution of door prizes in the form of smartphones and credit vouchers from Indosat Ooredoo
Participants
- Male or female persons with disabilities (visually impaired, hearing impaired, physically disabled, etc.)
- All age groups
- Able to use a screen reader-equipped computer or smartphone (for the visually impaired)
- For friends with hearing impairments, you may suggest bringing your own sign language interpreter
- Must have an active Facebook account
- It is recommended for each participant to bring a laptop and headset for writing down ideas / proposals for the competition
Registration Process
For those who wish to participate, please register immediately by following these steps:
- Like the Facebook fanpage Kartunet.com at http://facebook.com/kartunet or the mobile version at http://m.facebook.com/kartunet
- Click "message" or send a message with the following details: full name, age, type of disability (visually impaired/hearing impaired/physically disabled), domicile, and a contactable mobile number.
- We will then add registered Facebook accounts to an inbox group, so coordination and info updates will be communicated through that group.
- The registration deadline is Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
Transportation
Participants are expected to go directly to the location and arrive by 4 PM. You can use online app-based transportation, or Trans Jakarta, which stops at the Monas bus stop. Volunteers will be on standby at the entrance of the Indosat building and around the Monas bus stop.
Note: The committee will provide local transportation reimbursement and a goodie bag to all participants. Hurry and register now as spots are very limited. You'll surely regret missing this event, as IWIC 10 has something special, especially for participants with disabilities.
