Jakarta, Kartunet.com - Year-end holidays are just around the corner. You and your family must be planning a trip somewhere. It would be quite troublesome to bring so many suitcases and all the necessary equipment for a holiday. Not to mention if you're going to a place or country you've never visited before. Check out our guide to keep your holiday practical and simple, ensuring a smooth trip.

1. If you're planning to visit a country you've never been to before, do a little research and learn about it. Look online for tourist attractions, currency, transportation, and accommodation options available there.

2. Typically, after a holiday, the number of bags or suitcases we have increases due to souvenirs. Therefore, try to bring only a few suitcases and one small bag for valuables like your wallet, phone, or passport.

3. Use flexible payment methods. Bring an ATM card or credit card that is widely accepted in many countries, so you don't have to bother carrying too much cash. However, always keep a small amount of local currency on hand for emergencies or small payments like taxi fares, train tickets, bus tickets, and so on.

4. Don't get lost. Carry a map in your bag, and typically, some specific phone models already have map applications or GPS navigation for various countries.

5. It doesn't hurt to learn a little bit of a foreign language for asking questions. Just learn enough everyday conversational phrases to make communication easier. Don't worry, technology is very advanced these days, and you can easily have a foreign language dictionary app on your phone.

6. If you're unsure about the food served at certain restaurants in a particular country, it's safer to eat at fast-food franchise restaurants, as their menus are almost uniform across all countries.

Now you're ready for your holiday, and don't forget to buy souvenirs and mementos. Happy holidays! Hendro
