Job Board for People with Disabilities Coming Soon

Bali - Employment is one of the main challenges faced by people with disabilities. The lack of attention from both government and private sectors makes it difficult for them to secure decent jobs. Consequently, the majority of people with disabilities live below the poverty line. To address this challenge, an international organization based in Barcelona, Spain, is launching an online employment network for people with disabilities in Indonesia, called DNetwork. DNetwork is a global job site that connects employers with job seekers with disabilities who are eager to work. Here, "employers" refers to those willing to provide opportunities for job seekers with disabilities to participate in the formal employment sector. On DNetwork, a single job vacancy can be applied for by more than one job seeker with disabilities, and employers have the right to select one or two individuals from the many applicants for an interview. If the job seeker with disabilities meets the employer's requirements, they will be hired by the respective employer. This organization, based in Tohpati, Bali, was founded in October 2013 in Bali and Barcelona, a collaboration between Inspirasia Foundation, an international foundation involved in the disability community since 2003, and Barcelona's reliable & experienced job search site. Quoting from DNetwork's press release, Suri, the program coordinator, stated that the organization's mission is to create a sustainable infrastructure (a job search site) that can help people with disabilities find jobs that match their potential. Suri further added that DNetwork's future vision is to be recognized as a non-profit organization actively working to enhance professional opportunities and social inclusion for its users. Currently, the organization, whose motto is "Let's Working together," is still developing the website system that will serve as a platform to connect companies with job seekers with disabilities.
