Coinciding with the opening of its new outlet in Gandaria City, the renowned French cosmetics company collaborated with Kartunet to implement its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Kartunet attended the event and presented several performances.
L'Occitane's Marketing Manager explained that the idea to incorporate Braille into L'Occitane products originated when Olivier Baussan, the founder of L'Occitane, was impressed by the perseverance of a visually impaired French person who refused assistance while shopping in his store. From that moment, he decided to include Braille to make shopping easier for the visually impaired.
Kartunet's presence at the event served as proof of the existence and capabilities of the visually impaired. It is no longer acceptable to overlook the visually impaired; instead, it's time to demonstrate that they too can deliver captivating performances with their diverse talents.
Accompanied by Riqo's captivating guitar performance, Andira, Director of Kartunet's Media Relations Department, sang several songs, including Adele's famous hit "Someone Like You." This was followed by a magic trick from Wawan, a visually impaired individual, who managed to make Iwet Ramadhan, the master of ceremony, run in surprise as a ribbon suddenly transformed into a long stick and nearly hit him.
Furthermore, guest star Surya Saputra was playfully outsmarted by Rafik, a visually impaired Rubik's Cube player or 'cuber,' when challenged to a speed contest to solve a scrambled Rubik's Cube.
At this event, Kartunet officially inaugurated its collaboration with L'Occitane Indonesia. The French cosmetics company, which sells beauty and body/skin care products, recognizes the importance of care and appreciation for the perseverance of people with disabilities, especially those who remain enthusiastic and independent, proving that people with disabilities are also capable of living self-sufficiently.
