Jakarta, Kartunet - The 2014 CPNS quota for persons with disabilities appears to be the last special formation whose registration will be opened by the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN and RB). This is due to the Ministry of Social Affairs, which was appointed as the coordinator for special formations for persons with disabilities, not being ready. This means that persons with disabilities intending to apply for the 2014 CPNS must still be patient after the initial opening on August 27th. Currently, the government has only opened special formations for Papuan children and top graduates. "Currently, special formations for persons with disabilities have not yet been opened. We are still awaiting the readiness of the Ministry of Social Affairs as the coordinator," said Herman Suryatman, Head of Legal, Public Information Communication (HKIP) at the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPAN-RB), when receiving persons with disabilities at his office in Jakarta on Wednesday (October 1st). He explained that this year there are 300 special vacancies for persons with disabilities. The Ministry of Social Affairs will be responsible for data collection regarding where they will be placed. "KemenPAN-RB only determines the formations. Where they will be placed is according to the agency's request. That's why the Ministry of Social Affairs will coordinate it," he clarified. Regarding the request from visually impaired persons for high school graduates to be accommodated, Herman stated that it would still be discussed further by KemenPAN-RB and the Ministry of Social Affairs. With information on special formations for persons with disabilities already available on the Panselnas Kemen PAN and RB website, it is emphasized that persons with disabilities who have submitted applications previously were applying for general formations, not special ones. Even though some agencies, such as the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Social Affairs, have an item to input the type of disability, this is considered a general formation. Furthermore, due to this year's policy that applicants can only register with one agency using their Population Identification Number (NIK), persons with disabilities who have already applied for general formations cannot reapply for the special formations that are yet to be opened.(DPM) source: Sumatera Express October 2, 2014
