Jakarta, Kartunet - The largest automotive exhibition in Indonesia has also shown consideration for the needs of people with disabilities regarding vehicles. The motor vehicle exhibition, or Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), held this year from September 18-28 at the Niaga building in the central Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), is themed "Smart Safe and Mobility." This year's IIMS features 36 renowned automotive brands, ranging from well-known to lesser-known names.
Products from Suzuki, Daihatsu, Agya, and even Desun are available at this largest automotive exhibition, along with various discounts. Generally, the various types of vehicles available do not cater to people with disabilities, as they do not facilitate ease of use for individuals with disabilities, particularly those with physical impairments, in enjoying motor vehicles.
However, it turns out that Astra Daihatsu Motor has a product that addresses the needs of people with disabilities in enjoying a motor vehicle. This vehicle is a modified Daihatsu product. Named Luxio Sloper, it shares the same 1500CC engine as the standard Luxio but has received a different touch. The Luxio Sloper is equipped with a ramp that can support up to 120kg, facilitating wheelchair access for wheelchairs up to 1.5 meters long.
Its capacity is 5 people, fewer than the standard Luxio which can accommodate 7, because two seats in the second row of the Luxio Sloper have been removed to make space for a wheelchair. Quoted from Viva.co.id, according to Juandi Sihombing, Sales Executive of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM), this disability-friendly car is not yet mass-produced, but for those interested in ordering it at the Indonesia International Motor Show, they are ready to fulfill orders.
